About Jungle Garden
Jardin Jungle Karlostachys is an extraordinary 15-hectare wild exotic garden created by botanist Charles Boulanger in 1994, featuring over 7,000 plant species from China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand. The garden houses one of France's most impressive bamboo collections with over 300 species, including rare giant bamboos reaching 13 meters in height, alongside sequoias, rhododendrons, hydrangeas, and unique botanical specimens found nowhere else in Europe. Three distinct areas await visitors: an arboretum of rare trees, an extensive bamboo garden, and an enclosed garden showcasing hydrangeas and exotic vines.

The name 'Karlostachys' is a clever portmanteau combining 'Karlos' (Charles, the creator's name) with 'Stachys' (from Phyllostachys, the Latin name for bamboo). Charles Boulanger spent 4 years working under the bamboos at the famous Bambouseraie d'Anduze before creating his own garden, and this unique name pays homage to that formative experience.
