About Atelier des Lumières
Atelier des Lumières is Paris's first all-digital immersive art center, housed in a converted 19th-century iron foundry in the 11th arrondissement. The venue uses 140 video projectors to cover 3,300 square meters of walls, floors, and ceilings with moving artwork, accompanied by a spatialized sound system. Exhibitions change roughly once a year, with past programs dedicated to Klimt, Van Gogh, Cézanne, and other major artists.

The building was originally the Fonderie du Chemin-Vert, established in 1835 by brothers Jacques and Hilaire Plichon to produce cast iron for the French navy and railways. The foundry could create single castings weighing up to 10,000 kg and employed around 60 workers. Four generations of the Plichon family ran the operation before it dissolved in 1935 during the global economic crisis.
