About Bourdelle Museum
The Musée Bourdelle occupies the original studios and apartment where sculptor Antoine Bourdelle lived and worked from 1885 until his death in 1929. Located in the Montparnasse quarter of Paris's 15th arrondissement, the museum holds over 2,000 plaster sculptures, 2,200 bronzes, hundreds of paintings, and thousands of drawings and photographs. Visitors walk through Bourdelle's preserved workspace, a painting studio, the family apartment with period furnishings, and a grand hall built in 1961 for monumental plasterwork.

Bourdelle taught at the Académie de la Grande-Chaumière for 20 years, training over 500 students. Three of them — Alberto Giacometti, Germaine Richier, and Vieira da Silva — went on to become major 20th-century artists, making his studio one of the most productive teaching environments in modern art history.
