About Montparnasse Tower Panoramic Observatory
The Montparnasse Tower Panoramic Observatory sits atop the 210-metre Tour Montparnasse, the tallest skyscraper in central Paris. Visitors take a 38-second elevator ride to the 56th floor indoor observation deck at 196 metres, then climb stairs to the open-air rooftop terrace on the 59th floor. The 360-degree views stretch up to 40 km on clear days, covering the Eiffel Tower, Sacré-Cœur, Notre-Dame, and the La Défense skyline.

Parisians often joke that the Montparnasse Tower has the best view in Paris — because it's the only spot where you can't see the tower itself. A 2008 VirtualTourist poll voted it the second-ugliest building in the world, behind only Boston City Hall.
