About Church of Our Lady of Deliverance
The Church of Our Lady of Deliverance is a remarkable three-nave edifice standing proudly in the center of Blangy-sur-Bresle, the sole survivor of three medieval churches that once graced this Normandy town. Dating back to the 12th century with architectural elements spanning the 13th through 17th centuries, the church has endured a turbulent history including destruction during the Hundred Years' War, vault collapses, and near-complete devastation from WWII bombings in 1940 and 1944. The current structure, meticulously rebuilt between 1952-1957 in its original style, was reinaugurated on June 20, 1954.

The church's three bells, named after their godparents and christened between 1942-1954, weigh an impressive 1,900 kg, 1,300 kg, and 1,100 kg respectively. Despite the devastation of WWII, these bells were carefully preserved and reinstalled in the reconstructed bell tower, continuing to call the faithful to worship as they have for generations.
