Step into the Domaine de Candé, a Renaissance château transformed over the centuries into a showcase of early 20th-century innovation, set within 230 hectares of rolling Touraine parkland. Wander through over twenty rooms preserved exactly as they were in the 1930s, including the library where the Duke of Windsor married Wallis Simpson in 1937, and admire the remarkable three-storey Skinner pipe organ classified as a historic monument. Outside, the grounds harbour a conservatory orchard tended by local volunteers, heritage fruit varieties, ponds, and woodland trails. The château is open from April to October — Wednesday to Sunday, daily in July and August — with a midday closure between 12:30 and 13:30.
