D-Day Heritage Day in Sainte-Mère-Église

This itinerary explores the D-Day heritage and Norman rural traditions of Sainte-Mère-Église. The route begins at the historic church where paratrooper John Steele famously hung from the steeple on June 6, 1944, continues to the Airborne Museum with its authentic C-47 aircraft and immersive exhibits, and concludes at the Farm-Museum showcasing traditional Cotentin agriculture. The Farm-Museum is closed on Saturdays and opens only at 14:00 — plan accordingly. During D-Day anniversary week in early June, expect longer queues at the Airborne Museum.
