About Casino Barrière de Trouville
The Casino Barrière de Trouville is a historic gaming and entertainment venue designed by architect Alexandre Durville and inaugurated on June 29, 1912. Built in just fifteen months, it quickly became France's largest casino at the time, spanning 6,500 m² on the waterfront between the Touques quays and the Planches promenade. The building features 25-meter high facades with numerous arched bays, portholes, and curvilinear pediments in a colonial style inspired by Louisiana, complete with decorative paddle wheels visible from the entrance.

The casino's original gaming heritage in Trouville dates back much earlier than this building - the first gaming establishment, the Salon des Bains, opened in 1838, making the town one of the earliest coastal gambling destinations in France, predating even many famous Riviera casinos.
