About Moulin Rouge
The Moulin Rouge is a cabaret venue in the Montmartre district of Paris, opened on 6 October 1889 by Joseph Oller and Charles Zidler — the same year as the Eiffel Tower. The venue was the first building in Paris to use electric lighting and quickly became famous for the French Cancan dance. Its current show, Feerie, has run since 1999 and features 100 performers, 1,000 costumes, and an on-stage aquarium where dancers perform underwater.
