About Valençay Automobile Museum
The Musée de l'Automobile de Valençay displays over 60 fully functional vintage vehicles spanning from 1898 to the present day, housed in a purpose-built 1,200 m² exhibition space. The collection traces the technical and aesthetic evolution of the automobile, with particular strength in French manufacturers like Panhard, Renault, and Citroën. Originally started by the Guignard family, who ran an automotive repair business since 1910, the vehicles were first displayed in 1981 inside the former riding arena of the Château de Valençay before relocating to the current premises in 2001.
