About Reporters Memorial
The Reporters Memorial is a landscaped garden dedicated to journalists killed while reporting from conflict zones worldwide. Opened in 2007, it was created through a partnership between the City of Bayeux and Reporters Without Borders, making it the first memorial of its kind in the world. The site features 27 white marble steles along winding pathways through a wooded area, with over 2,100 names engraved chronologically by year of death, starting from 1944.
