About Statue of Liberty
5 meters tall on the western tip of Île aux Cygnes, an artificial island in the Seine. The statue was created by Auguste Bartholdi from one of his original working models used during the design of the New York original. Donated by the American expatriate community in Paris, it was inaugurated on July 4, 1889, during the Universal Exposition celebrating the centenary of the French Revolution.
