About Alexander III Bridge
The Pont Alexandre III is a single-span steel arch bridge crossing the Seine between the Invalides esplanade and the Grand Palais area. Built between 1896 and 1900 for the Paris World's Fair, it was designed by engineers Jean Résal and Amédée Alby under a strict constraint: the arch could not block the sightline between Les Invalides and the Champs-Élysées. 5 meters with a height of only 6 meters above the water.

Tsar Nicholas II of Russia and Empress Alexandra laid the foundation stone on 7 October 1896 during an official state visit.
