About La Galerie Dior
La Galerie Dior is a 2,000 m² fashion museum inside the historic hôtel particulier at 11 rue François 1er, where Christian Dior founded his couture house in 1946. Spread across two floors with 13 thematic rooms, the gallery traces over 70 years of Dior creations — from the revolutionary 1947 "New Look" through the work of every successive creative director including Yves Saint Laurent, John Galliano, and Maria Grazia Chiuri. Visitors can see archival couture gowns displayed as floating sculptures, a grand staircase lined with 1,874 miniature Dior creations arranged by color, and a reconstructed replica of Christian Dior's personal office with original sketches.

On April 18, 1946, Christian Dior found a small metal star on the pavement of Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré while walking to meet his future financial backer Marcel Boussac. Deeply superstitious, he interpreted it as a sign of destiny. The star first appeared as a design motif in 1952 on a dress called "Bonne Étoile" (Good Star) and has since become one of Dior's most recognizable brand symbols.
