About Barbizon Church of Our Lady of Perseverance
This charming village chapel in Barbizon has a remarkable origin: it was originally the barn of Théodore Rousseau, the leading figure of the Barbizon School of painters. After Rousseau's death in 1867, the barn was donated by the Henry sisters and consecrated as the Chapelle Saint-Paul on January 24, 1889. The bell tower was designed by Charles-Louis Millet, son of the renowned painter Jean-François Millet.
