About Green Corridor René-Dumont
7-kilometer elevated linear park in the 12th arrondissement, built on the abandoned Vincennes railway line that closed in 1969. Opened in 1993, it was the world's first railway-to-park conversion and served as the direct inspiration for New York's High Line, which followed 16 years later. The promenade rises about 10 meters above Avenue Daumesnil, passing through open gardens, tree-lined walkways, and short tunnels beneath road crossings.

The promenade is named after René Dumont (1904–2001), a French agronomist who became France's first Green Party presidential candidate in 1974. His campaign, run on a bicycle with a glass of water as his symbol, pioneered environmental politics in the country decades before it became mainstream.
