About D-Day Museum
The world's first museum dedicated to D-Day, opened in 1954 on the beach where the Allies constructed the artificial Mulberry Harbor. The museum underwent a complete €11 million renovation in 2023, doubling its exhibition space to 1,200 m² across seven thematic sections. Visitors explore scale models, archival footage, 3D video mapping, and authentic WWII artifacts including Commander Philippe Kieffer's battledress jacket.

The artificial harbor was constructed from 600,000 tons of concrete, 33 jetties, and 16 km of floating roadways. Approximately 45,000 workers in 300 British engineering companies built the components in secret before towing them across the English Channel.
