The chapel inside the museum was redesigned by Richard Mique, the same architect who created the Petit Trianon hamlet for Marie-Antoinette at Versailles. Madame Louise de France, daughter of King Louis XV, personally commissioned these renovations during her time as a Carmelite nun here between 1770 and 1787.
