About Poissy Toy Museum
The Poissy Toy Museum occupies the 14th-century gatehouse of the former Royal Priory of Saint-Louis, a medieval building founded by Queen Jeanne de Navarre in 1304. Opened in 1976, it was the first museum in France dedicated entirely to toys, established at a time when France ranked as the world's fourth-largest toy producer. The collection holds around 14,000 objects spanning from antiquity to the 2000s, with roughly 600 pieces on permanent display.
