Melun Church of Saint-Aspais, Melun

The Church of Saint-Aspais is the largest and most architecturally significant church in Melun, a masterpiece of Flamboyant Gothic style built between 1505 and 1555. It is the only church in France dedicated to Saint Aspais, a 5th-century priest who evangelized the town. Designed by Parisian master-mason Jehan de Felin, who also worked on the Tour Saint-Jacques in Paris, the church features an unusual trapezoidal floor plan dictated by the medieval urban plot.
