The National Gendarmerie Museum, located within the grounds of the Officers School in Melun, traces the fascinating history of France's military law enforcement institution from the medieval Maréchaussée to the modern era. Reopened in 2015 after an extensive renovation, the museum spans 1,200 square meters across two floors, featuring a stunning 18-meter-high suspended glass display case — the largest in Europe — showcasing 44 uniformed figures, 13 horses, and period vehicles representing centuries of gendarmerie history.
