About Palace of Versailles
The Palace of Versailles is one of the most magnificent royal residences in the world, a masterpiece of French Baroque architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Originally a hunting lodge built by Louis XIII, it was transformed by Louis XIV into an opulent palace that served as the seat of French political power from 1682 to 1789. The palace features 2,300 rooms spread across 63,154 square meters, including the iconic Hall of Mirrors — a 73-meter-long gallery adorned with 357 mirrors and crystal chandeliers.
