The 12 painted enamel panels by Léonard Limosin, created between 1545 and 1547, were originally royal commissions for King Francis I. They were later placed in the chapel at Château d'Anet before ending up in the Church of Saint-Pierre during the French Revolution, and finally entering the museum's collection.
