About Château and Floral Park of Apremont-sur-Allier
' The castle dates to the medieval period with five towers rebuilt around 1500 by Philibert de Boutillat, and was extensively restored in Gothic Revival style between 1934 and 1942 by industrialist Eugène Schneider II. The castle interior is private, but visitors can walk the ramparts and the 'Terrasse des Canons' for views over the village and the Allier river. The floral park, created in the mid-1970s by Gilles de Brissac, blends English garden abundance with French formal design across themed sections including a White Garden, a 100-metre wisteria pergola, and an arboretum with Japanese maples and sequoias.

He rebuilt village houses to resemble late-medieval architecture and planted 400,000 trees, including 300,000 oaks, transforming the surrounding landscape into managed forest.
