About House of Magic Robert-Houdin
The Maison de la Magie Robert-Houdin occupies a grand 19th-century mansion directly facing the Royal Chateau on Place du Château in Blois. The museum honours Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin (1805–1871), a Blois-born clockmaker who became the father of modern stage magic by replacing street-fair conjurers with elegant theatrical performances. Spread across five floors and 2,000 square metres of exhibition space, the museum displays 170 original objects including Robert-Houdin's mechanical automatons, magic props, and inventions.
