About Les Jardins de Roquelin
Les Jardins de Roquelin is a 1-hectare English-style ornamental garden on the left bank of the Loire, directly facing the Chateau de Meung-sur-Loire. The garden holds over 500 varieties of heritage roses, interplanted with perennials, delphiniums, irises, and ornamental shrubs in a naturalistic design. Created in 2002 by rose specialist Stephane Chassine on the site of a former agricultural farm, it opened to visitors in 2005 and received the "Jardin Remarquable" label from the French Ministry of Culture in 2010.

The land where the garden stands once served as royal stables for King Louis XI of France, who kept a residence at the nearby Chateau de Meung-sur-Loire in the 15th century. When Stephane Chassine acquired the property in 2002, the buildings were in ruins and the land had been abandoned for decades.
