About Châteaudun Museum of Fine Arts and Natural History
This municipal museum in Châteaudun holds certified "Musée de France" status and spans nine rooms across fine arts, natural history, archaeology, Egyptology, and Asian art. Founded in 1864 by the Société Dunoise d'Archéologie, the collection moved to its current home in a former school building on rue Toufaire in 1890. The fine arts section features 19th-century landscape paintings of the Dunois region alongside 17th-century Flemish and Italian works.
