About Parc Louis Pasteur
Parc Louis Pasteur is a 4-hectare public garden in central Orléans, opened in 1927 on the site of a former 18th-century cemetery. The park combines a formal French garden with geometric flower beds and a landscape-style English section with century-old trees including weeping beeches, ginkgo biloba, and blue cedars. A decorative boat basin sits on the visual axis of the Cathédrale Sainte-Croix, and seven permanent sculptures are displayed throughout the grounds, two of which are on loan from the Louvre.

The park was built on a cemetery that served Orléans for over a century. The Saint-Vincent cemetery operated here from the late 1780s until 1903, when burials were transferred to the new Grand Cimetière in the north of the city.
