About Château de Troussay
Château de Troussay is the smallest château of the Loire Valley, built between 1450 and 1517 near Cheverny. The property owes its current appearance to historian Louis de La Saussaye, who restored it in the 19th century and incorporated salvaged Renaissance architectural elements from demolished Loire châteaux, including windows from Château de Bury. The interior preserves period furnishings from the 16th to 18th centuries and can only be visited through guided tours at fixed times.

The property has changed hands only twice since the 15th century. The Sainte-Marie family has owned and managed the estate since 1900, making it one of the longest continuously family-owned châteaux in the Loire Valley.
