About Vierzon Museum
The Vierzon Museum is a municipal museum accredited as a "Musée de France" by the Ministry of Culture, dedicated to the city's industrial, railway, and local history. Housed in the former Société Française factory complex — an early 20th-century protected industrial monument with original 1908-1924 metal-beam workshops — the museum covers roughly 700-1,000 m² of exhibition space. Collections span four areas: ceramics and decorative arts including porcelain from the Manufacture de Sèvres, agricultural machinery, 150 years of French railway history through models and documents, and the broader story of Vierzon's industrial development.

During the museum's 51-year closure (1962-2013), curator Dr. Tixidre meticulously catalogued and preserved the entire collection, and the city continued acquiring new objects to document Vierzon's industrial past. This dedication ensured that when the museum finally reopened, the collection was richer than when it had closed.
